This cartoon is part of a series of five cartoons drawn in a Gary Larson style. In this Mental Health Humor Includes my normal overmedicated bottles mixed within the reality it of a regular cartoon. I know it’s not exactly my overmedicated style, but the title does have overmedicated and it so I thought it would be appropriate to share it on this blog. There’s a lot of subtleties in this joke Starting with spelling bipolar as we stated in New England “bipola” sounds like “by-po-LA”. I guess I always figured if there was going to be a Bipolar Disorder Institute For The Overmedicated & Misunderstood it would have to be floating on a cloud filled with oddities, bipolar polar Bears, goldfish, snakes, a dog and a bunch a happy and yet paranoid people on medication. The building style is something Gary Larson did a lot, he had the ability to bring a lot of content into just a few Windows. I think I might have overdone it a little bit, some of the joke gets lost… But the main aspect of this cartoon was to Draw in that the styling art of Gary Larson… You got a gimme props for that .

The other day I was thinking what would embarrass a medication bottle character in my overmedicated cartoons? I got to thinking about carbamazepine, Trileptal a mood stabilizer I’d take that weakens other medications effectiveness from time to time. Most notably its interaction with antibiotics, for me I believe it was just killing the antibiotic which was already dead. I had to take some for toothache I was having a while back and nothing worked they put me on five different types of antibiotics. All it did was inflame the issue… Long story and off the subject. Back to the topic, what would embarrass any medication in my mind, since in my mind each medication bottle is alive and lives its own life and deals with everyday issues the same as a human one… Helps sorry once again getting off topic, I’m bipolar gimme a break, you have to learn to talk about five different things at once when you deal with me and anyone else living with bipolar disorder… Oh it’s fun when we start talking to each other we could be talking about 10 different things and still understand each other. But sorry off topic again, so what would a medication bottle find embarrassing… The loss of potency! and that’s where this Viagra cartoon stems from… I hope you like it.
